A Movie on the Observatory Dome on top "Little Saanich Mountain"

Celebrate National Science and Technology Week 2010 with a FREE Movie Night

The Centre of the Universe, located atop "Little Saanich Mountain" where the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory is located will be screening the 1953 version of “War of the worlds” on the observatory dome.  The film will be moderated by Dr. James Di Francesco, who will examine the facts and fictions that underlie this Sci-Fi classic. Bring your lawn chairs, plenty of warm clothing with your friends and family and enjoy the show.  Should the weather cooperate members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada will be on hand with telescopes to observe both the moon and Jupiter. Should the weather prove inhospitable we will adapt and watch the movie indoors.

DATE: Friday, October 15th 2010
